Getting Ready for Markets!
Building stock, attaching care labels, price marking and just making sure everything is all together. Busy busy busy for Kalluna Dee! Markets are less than a week away, nervous yet excited.

Lace, wooden buttons and floral colours
A few weeks ago I found the most lush natural yarn, its colour was blended so I had no idea what the final colour would be like. Bright lolly pink, green and brown. Not something I would normally love, but I had a sudden inspiration from the floral combinations of colours. It took a while to find the right colour lace and then I knew I needed to find the right wooden buttons. Weeks later and I finally have finished these gorgeous newborn beanies! I can not wait to see what people think at the markets.

Preparing for Markets
I have officially booked Kalluna Dee into our local markets for April and May. Only a month to prepare and build stock levels, plan merchandising, organise pricing and what ever else you need to bring a market stall together! I am brimming with excitement that my creations could actually find themselves out in the world bringing someone a little piece of happiness and joy.

Starting a new journey
I have decided this year I am going to be more creative. I am going to let my inspiration lead me. I am going to live life to the fullest and express myself thru my art. I am so excited to see where the creative process will lead me.
I have so many people tell me I should sell my creations but I am still so unsure. Creating and selling are two very different experiences. I guess to really enjoy your business you need to make things you love, but whether people buy it is another thing entirely.
I need to find a way to fund my craft and a purpose in creating. I have started enquiring about local markets and building my stock levels. I am nervous. I am so inexperienced at all this. I guess in a few months time I will be more sure of my direction, but now it is the journey to find my destination.

Quiet Mornings
Listening to my husbands alarm going off, he scoots from our bed and I try to pretend it's not morning yet. He collects our baby girl from the cot where she is chattering away and tucks her in bed next to me. I open an eye and she giggles at me. It's like she knows it's early and I don't want to get out of bed. I hoped she would snuggle and fall back asleep but alas, it's time for chatting and blowing raspberries. I give her a cuddle and slip her back in the cot with a scrunchy sounding butterfly toy while I get her milk ready, rub the sleep from my eyes and kiss my husband before he leaves for work. Time to start another day!
